Terms & Conditions
Effective October 15, 2026
By using thefigtreecounseling.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Information, not therapy
The content on this website is general information about The Fig Tree Counseling and our services. It is not counseling, medical advice, or a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Visiting this site, using the contact form, or sending an email does not create a counselor-client relationship. That relationship begins only after a consultation, completed intake paperwork, and signed informed consent.
Not for emergencies
We do not monitor messages around the clock. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
Where we can provide counseling
In-person sessions take place at our Austin, TX office. Telehealth sessions are available only when you are physically located in a state where your counselor is licensed (currently Texas and Tennessee) at the time of each session.
Appointments and fees
Fees, cancellations, and refunds are described on our Fees, Cancellations & Refunds page and in the informed consent you sign at intake. If the two ever differ, your signed agreement controls.
Third-party services and links
This site links to services we do not operate, including our Jane client portal. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Our content
The text, logo, and images on this site belong to The Fig Tree Counseling unless otherwise noted. You may share links to our pages, but please do not copy or reuse our content for commercial purposes without written permission.
No guarantees
We work to keep this site accurate and up to date, but it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Fig Tree Counseling is not liable for any damages arising from your use of this website.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date above shows when they last changed. Questions? Email hannahpate@thefigtreecounseling.com.
